Belarus’ retail sales down 4.5% on yr in Jan-Mar 2021 to Br13.1bn

Belarus’ retail turnover, including the public catering sector, went down by 4.5% on the year in Jan-Mar 2021 to Br13.1 billion ($5 billion at the central bank’s exchange rate) in comparative prices, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> The per capita daily retail turnover in Jan-Mar 2021 stood at Br15.6 ($6) to compare with Br14.6 ($5.59) in Jan-Mar 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total, trade organizations accounted for 91.6%; individual entrepreneurs and natural persons accounted for the rest (8.4%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The trade turnover of Belarus’ state-owned trading companies reduced by 3.8% in Jan-Mar 2021 to Br12 billion ($4.6bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ retail sales grew by 1.8% year on year in 2020 to Br53.1 billion ($20.3bn).
