Belarus restores electricity supplies to Ukraine from 17 Dec to 870MW

Belarus is restoring electricity supplies to Ukraine from 17 December by to 870 MW, according to the information shown on the website of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E). </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the ENTSO-E website, supplies of 870 MW are scheduled for all hours of the day on December 17, which almost corresponds to the maximum cross-sectional capacity from that direction (900 MW). Until then, all days of December electricity from Belarus was supplied with a capacity of 398MW to 900MW, depending on the time of the day. Thus, electricity supply to Ukraine will return to the level at which it has been at recently before a sharp drop of 60MW since December 12 and a slight increase to 100MW on December 16. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus reduced electricity supplies to Ukraine since 12 December by 6.6-15 times, depending on the time of day, to 60 MW, although before that in December electricity from Belarus had been supplied in the range of 398 MW to 900 MW. The head of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Energy and Housing and Utilities Committee, Andriy Gerus, said that supplies were suspended by TET Group LLC, which imported electricity through a Dubai-based intermediary, Vector Energo.
