Belarus reports Br1.837bn in net profit of FEZ residents in Jan-Sep 2021 against Br47.8m loss in Jan-Sep 2020

The net profit of the resident enterprises of Belarus’ free economic zones (FEZ) in Jan-Sep 2021 totalled Br1.837 billion ($723.4 million at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Belarus) against a net year-on-year loss of Br47.8 million ($18.8 million) in Jan-Sep 2020, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Proceeds from sales of goods, works and services of FEZ enterprises in Jan-Sep 2021 increased 42.4% to Br21.163 billion ($8.334 billion). Industrial output was up 46.2% (in actual prices) to Br19.835 billion ($7.811 billion). </p> <p> </p> <p> FEZ residents increased exports of goods in Jan-Sep 2021 by 41.4% on the year to $5.925 billion. Imports of goods increased 41% to $3.626 billion. Exports of services reduced by 4.2% to $41.714 million, and imports of services grew by 90% to $148.556 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> In Jan-Sep 2021, capital investment in FEZ totalled Br1.101 billion ($433.57 million), up 15.5% year on year in comparable prices. Foreign investments amounted to Br178.5 million ($70.29 million), up 11.9% year on year in comparative prices. </p> <p> </p> <p> The FEZ numbered 429 registered residents as of Oct 1, 2021 (minus 7 from Oct 1, 2020), including 421 active (minus 1).
