Belarus reports Br1.144bn in net profit of FEZ residents in H1 2021 against Br18.1m loss in H1 2020

The net profit of the resident enterprises of Belarus’ free economic zones (FEZ) in H1 2021 totalled Br1.144 billion ($455.1 million at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Belarus) against a net year-on-year loss of Br18.1 million ($7.2 million) in H1 2020, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Proceeds from sales of goods, works and services of FEZ enterprises in H1 2021 increased 49.1% to Br13.396 billion ($5.33 billion). Industrial output was up 48.9% (in actual prices) to Br12.511 billion ($4.98 billion). </p> <p> </p> <p> FEZ residents increased exports of goods in H1 2021 by 45.1% on the year to $3.713 billion. Imports of goods increased 46% to $2.35 billion. Exports of services grew by 31.5% to $31.931 million, and imports of services grew by 3.1 times to $98.81 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> In H1 2021, capital investment in FEZ totalled Br733 million ($291.6 million), up 26.7% year on year in comparable prices. Foreign investments amounted to Br110.8 million ($44.1 million), down 7.5% year on year in comparative prices. </p> <p> </p> <p> The FEZ numbered 439 registered residents as of July 1, 2021 (+9 from July 1, 2020), including 428 (+11) active.
