Belarus reports $3.222bn foreign trade surplus in Jan-Oct 2021

Belarus’ surplus in foreign trade in commodities and services amounted to $3.222 billion in Jan-Oct 2021 compared with a $1.83 billion surplus in Jan-Oct 2020, says the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat). </p> <p> </p> <p> The foreign trade turnover of goods and services increased in Jan-Oct 2021 by 30.6% year on year to $75.722 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports of commodities and services increased in Jan-Oct 2021 by 32% year on year to $39.472 billion; imports were up 29.1% to $36.25 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> The deficit of foreign trade in commodities amounted to $495 million in Jan-Oct 2021 to compare with a $1.335 billion deficit in Jan-Oct 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports of commodities (in FOB prices) were up 36.3% y/y in Jan-Oct 2021 to $31.127 billion, imports increased by 30.8% to $31.622 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> The surplus of foreign trade in services amounted to $3.717 billion in Jan-Oct 2021 against a $3.165 billion surplus in Jan-Oct 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports of services increased in Jan-Oct 2021 by 18.2% year on year to $8.345 billion; imports were up 18.7% to $4.627 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ foreign trade surplus stood at $1.922 billion in 2020. The turnover of foreign trade in goods and services totalled $72.242 billion; exports – $37.082 billion; imports – $35.16 billion. Export of goods (in FOB prices) amounted to $28.257 billion in 2020, imports – $30.226 billion; export of services – $8.825 billion; imports of services – $4.934 billion. End </p>
