Belarus raises retail prices of motor fuel by 0.53% Mar 16, 2021

Retail prices of AI-95-K5-Euro petrol goes up by 0.54% to Br1.87 ($0.71 at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus) per litre; AI-92-K5-Euro – by 0.57% to Br1.77 ($0.67), AI-98-K5-Euro – by 0.48% to Br2.09 ($0.8); diesel fuel – by 0.54% to Br1.87 ($0.71) per litre, Belneftekhim state petrochemical concern reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> This has been the seventh change in motor fuel prices since early 2021. This year, the price of 1 litre of AI-95-K5-Euro petrol has increased by 3.9%; AI-98-K5-Euro – by 3.5%; AI-92-K5-Euro – by 4.1%; diesel fuel – by 3.9%. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The price strategy of changing the maximum ceiling price for oil products by no more than 1 kopeck per litre per week is aimed at reducing the sensitivity of fuel costs to oil price fluctuations on external markets. From March 1 to March 12, 2021 the average oil price reached $67.2 per barrel and increased by 22.5% compared to the level of January 2021,” Belneftekhim said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Belneftekhim, the analysis of the price situation in the markets of neighbouring European countries shows that against the background of a significant increase in oil prices, the prices of petroleum products in these markets increased by 10-16%. </p> <p> </p> <p> “In Belarus, fuel prices have increased by 3.3% since the beginning of the year and remain lower than in Ukraine by 30%, in Poland and the Baltic States - by 45-50% and higher than in the Russian Federation by 9 -13%,” reads the report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Motor fuel prices in Belarus changed 16 times in 2020 to a 3.4% increase on average.
