Belarus’ overdue corporate debt to foreign cos down 8.5% to $477.5m in Jan-Mar 2020

The overdue debt of Belarusian enterprises to foreign companies decreased 8.5% year on year in January-March 2020 to U.S. $477.5 million as of April 1, 2020, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus’ overdue debt to Russian companies was down 19.2% in Jan-Mar 2020 to $125.1 million; debts to non-Russian enterprises within the CIS down 25.2% to $27.8 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus’ overdue debt to foreign countries other than the CIS states decreased in Jan-Mar 2020 by 1.6% to $324.6 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Foreign companies’ overdue debt to Belarusian enterprises was down 18.8% in Jan-Mar 2020 to $355.5 million as of Apr 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Russian companies’ overdue debt to Belarus decreased 18.1% to $115.6 million as of Apr 1, 2020. The overdue debt of non-Russian enterprises within the CIS was down 47.9% to $53 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> The overdue debt of companies of foreign countries other than the CIS states to Belarus was at $186.9 million as of Apr 1, 2020, down 4.2% since early 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus’ overdue external corporate debt was 34.3% bigger than foreign companies’ liabilities to this country as of Apr 1, 2020 (34.3% against 19.2%, respectively, as of Jan 1, 2020).
