Belarus’ life:) telecom operator reports a 16.9% year-on-year increase in revenues in Q1 2021 to Br38 million ($14.9 million at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), reads the quarterly report by its parent company Turkcell Group. </p> <p> </p> <p> EBITDA increased in Q1 2021 by 9.5% to Br9.2 million ($3.61 million). The company’s net loss remained on a par with the level of Q1 2020 at Br8.1 million ($3.18m). </p> <p> </p> <p> The operator increased capital expenditures by 62.2% on the year in Q1 2021 to Br18 million ($7.1 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> The company numbered 1.1 million active subscribers, up 10% yoy in Q1 2021; the total subscriber base decreased by 6.7% to 1.4 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> “life:) continues to expand 4G coverage in Belarus in 2021. The operator started providing LTE services in the 800 MHz band through the beCloud network in two regions, which increased coverage and had a positive impact on customer satisfaction. All these efforts contributed to an increase in the penetration of 4G services, as evidenced by the number of 4G users, which reached 65% of the three-month active subscriber base. This led to an increase in subscribers' average monthly data consumption by 35% year-on-year to 12.7GB per month,” Turkcell Group said in its report. </p> <p> </p> <p> BeST CJSC (life:)) was licensed to provide communication services on March 24, 2005, and began commercial operation of its network on December 21, 2005.
