Belarus invites Russia to take their industrial, scientific and technical cooperation to a new level in the face of external sanctions, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at the meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov on February 3, 2021 in Minsk. </p> <p> </p> <p> “We are confident that industrial cooperation will be a foundation for advancing cooperation in conditions of heavy competition and political and economic restrictive measures taken by foreign countries. In this reality, we must, in my understanding, reach a new level of industrial, scientific and technical cooperation,” said Golovchenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> The economies begin to recover from the shocks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. “It is encouraging that this process is synchronized, strengthening of our economies is observed, and this is crucial, because Russia has been and, I am sure, will remain our key partner in the defense, industrial, scientific and technical areas,” Golovchenko said. </p> <p> </p> <p> He also proposed to intensify cooperation in the space industry. “We should soon decide on the financing of a joint Belarusian-Russian project to create a spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth. </p> <p> </p> <p> The prime minister also expressed confidence that Belarusian and Russian companies have a sufficient capacity to develop the radio-electronic industry.
