Belarus’ housing construction up 15%/yr in Jan-May 2021 to 1.498m sq m

Housing output in Belarus expanded 15% on the year in January-May 2021 to 1.498 million square metres, the National Statistics Committee said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> For families officially registered has households that need to have their housing conditions improved 555,400 sq metres (up 20.7%) of dwellings was commissioned in Jan-May 2021, or 37.1% of total housing output. </p> <p> </p> <p> Housing completion in the countryside amounted to 463,000 square metres, (30.9% of the total output), up 11.3% yoy. End </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total volume of housing built in January-May 2021, 410,900 square meters of housing was commissioned (+9.3%) in Minsk Oblast, in Minsk City – 326,500 square meters (+45.8%), in Brest Oblast - 243,800 square meters (+20.6%), in Grodno Oblast – 180,000 square meters (+18.5%), Gomel Oblast – 171,400 square meters (+5.4%), Vitebsk Oblast – 93,100 square meters (+4.7%), in Mogilev Oblast – 72,100 square meters (minus 25.4%). </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2020, 4.156 million sqm of housing was commissioned in Belarus (+2.3% compared to 2019).
