Belarus govt expects to implement basic package of integration programs by 2025 – vice premier

The government of Belarus expects to implement a basic package of union programs to deepen integration within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia by 2025. First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov made a statement to this effect in a television interview on 7 September. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Collectively we expect to implement almost all programs by 2025. There are a few elements that are more complicated - 2027, but they are not critical,” Snopkov said. </p> <p> </p> <p> Previously, on 5 September, Snopkov confirmed that all 28 union programmes had been agreed at the government level. In his words, the basic goal for all the programs remains the “creation of equal starting conditions for economic entities of the two countries. It takes into account “how aggressive the external environment is, how active intra-country or intra-bloc protectionism is.” </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, a package of 28 programmes to deepen Belarus-Russia integration can be signed at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Belarus and Russia on 10 September, if it is preliminarily approved at the 9 September meeting in Moscow of the presidents of the two countries, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin.
