Belarus’ government resigns as prescribed by Constitution; Lukashenko orders it to stay until new Council of Ministers is formed
<p> MINSK, Aug 17 - PrimePress. The government of Belarus resigned as per Council of Ministers’ resolution No.480 of August 15, 2020. By ordinance No.309 of August 15, 2020, incumbent President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko ordered the government to continue fulfilling its duties until a new Council of Ministers is appointed. The documents are posted on the National Legal Internet Portal of Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> The government resigned in accordance with Article 106 of the Constitution and Article 9 of the law No.424-З on the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of July 23, 2008, which stipulated the dissolution of the government after a presidential election. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the decree, the new government includes the head of the State Control Committee, head of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, head of the National Statistics Committee, and chair of the Board of the Belarusian Republican Union of Consumer Societies.
