Belarus’ GDP down 1.3% in Jan-Apr 2020 to Br41.092bn

Belarus’ gross domestic product decreased in January-April 2020 by 1.3% year on year to Br41.092 billion ($16.8bn at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Industrial output was down 3.8% year on year in Jan-Apr 2020 to Br35.25 billion ($14.4bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> Farm output grew by 5.2% year on year in Jan-Apr 2020 to Br3.992 billion ($1.63bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As reported, in 2019, Belarus’ GDP grew by 1.2% from 2018 to Br131.952 billion ($53.94bn), the official growth forecast being 4%.
