Belarus’ GDP down 0.9% in 2020 to Br147.006bn
<p> MINSK, Jan 18 - PrimePress. Gross domestic product of Belarus declined in January-December 2020 by 0.9% year on year to Br147.006 billion ($57.81 billion at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (NBB) reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> Industrial output was down 0.7% year on year in 2020 to Br116.477 billion ($45.81bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> Farm output increased in 2020 by 4.9% year on year to Br22.914bn ($9bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ GDP grew by 1.2% year on year in 2019 to Br131.952 billion ($51.9bn), the official growth forecast being 4%. Industrial output was up 1% to Br113.493 billion ($44.7bn); farm output – up 2.9% to Br20.859 billion ($8.6bn). Belarusian authorities expected 2.8% GDP growth in 2020. End (Br2.5428/$1) </p>
