Belarus’ food industry reports 6.1% increase in whole-milk products output in Jan-Sep, 2020 to 1.587m tonnes

Food industry enterprises of Belarus increased output of whole-milk products (in milk equivalent) in January-September 2020 by 6.1% year on year to 1.587 million tonnes, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of low-fat dairy products (in skim milk equivalent) decreased by 20% to 50,900 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of butter in Jan-Sep 2020 was up 3.4% year on year to 90,300 tonnes; cheese (except cream cheese spread) – up 9.7% to 197,900 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> The output of powdered milk and cream increased by 7.7% to 124,900 tonnes; unsolid condensed milk and cream – up 29.7% to 62,300 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> As of October 1, 2020, whole-milk product inventories amounted to 21,700 tonnes (12.3% of monthly average output), low-fat dairy products – 1,400 tonnes (24.7%); butter – 2,900 tonnes (29.5%); cheese – 10,400 tonnes (47.2%); powdered milk and cream – 5,300 tonnes (52.7%); unsolid condensed milk and cream – 4,500 tonnes (86.4%).
