Belarus’ farm output up 4.9% yr in Jan-Sep 2020 to Br16.713bn

Belarus’ farm output grew by 4.9% on the year in January-September 2020 to 16.713 billion Belarusian rubles ($6.579 billion at the official exchange rate), the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Sales of fattened cattle and poultry increased by 5.1% on the year in Jan-Sep 2020 to 1.273 million tonnes; milk sales grew by 6.6% to 5.147 million tonnes, eggs – to 2.674 billion, down 0.4 against Jan-Sep 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> The value of accounts payable in the agricultural sector stood at Br9.007 billion ($3.546 billion) as of Jan 1, 2020, up 6% year on year. Overdue accounts payable totaled Br2.417 billion ($0.952 billion) as of Sep 1, 2020, down 10.3% against Jan 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Accounts receivable amounted to Br1.741 billion ($685.4 million) as of Sep 1, 2020, up 8.4% against Jan 1, 2020. Overdue accounts receivable totaled Br435.2 million ($171.3 million), down 3%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The share of loss-making agricultural companies as of Sep 1, 2020 made up 8% (104) of the total number to compare with 8.9% (116) as of Sep 1, 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> The total net profit earned by Belarus’ agricultural companies in Jan-Sep 2020 stood at Br730.7 million ($287.7m), up 4.7% year on year.
