Belarus’ farm output down 0.3% yr in Jan-Apr 2021 to Br4.446bn

Belarus’ farm output reduced by 0.3% on the year in January-April 2021 to 4.446 billion Belarusian rubles ($1.752 billion at the official exchange rate), the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Sales of fattened cattle and poultry decreased by 2.8% on the year in Jan-Apr 2021 to 549,500 tonnes; milk sales grew by 2.1% to 2.211 million tonnes, eggs – to 1.112 billion, down 2.1% year on year. </p> <p> </p> <p> The value of accounts payable in the agricultural sector stood at Br8.964 billion ($3.532 billion) as of Apr 1, 2021, up 2.4% year on year. Overdue accounts payable totalled Br2.47 billion ($973.1 million) as of Apr 1, 2021, up 1.8% year to date. </p> <p> </p> <p> Accounts receivable amounted to Br1.738 billion ($684.71 million) as of Apr 1, 2021, up 2.3% year to date. Overdue accounts receivable totalled Br442.9 million ($174.49 million), up 2.1%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The share of loss-making agricultural companies as of Apr 1, 2021 made up 9.1% (117) of the total number to compare with 10.6% (135) as of Apr 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> The total net profit earned by Belarus’ agricultural companies in Jan-Mar 2020 stood at Br313.2 million ($123.39m), down 2.5% year on year.
