Belarus’ export revenues up 34.8% in Jan-May 2021 to $18.11bn

Belarus’ foreign exchange revenues from exports of goods, services, non-financial transfers of companies and private households increased by 34.8% year on year in January-May 2021 to $18.11 billion, reads a statistical report released by the National Bank of Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> In May alone, FX revenues grew 20.1% year to date to $3.599 billion; up 44.7% year on year. </p> <p> </p> <p> Revenues from commodity exports grew by 45.1% year on year in Jan-May 2021 to $13.868 billion, export of services – up 9.9% to $3.855 billion, incomes – up 7.1% to $122.5 million, other transfers – up 5.5% to $264.9 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Payments for imported goods and services, non-financial transfers of companies and private households grew by 23% year on year in Jan-May 2021 to $17.091 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> In May alone payments for imported goods and services grew by 22.2% year to date, up 67.6% year on year, to $3.561 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> Payments for imported of goods grew 25.5% year on year in Jan-May 2021 to $14.051 billion, payments for imported services – up 8.6% to $2.057 billion, payments of incomes – up 13.6% to $668.6 million; transfers – up 46.9% to $314.5 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> All in all, Belarus produced a surplus of foreign trade payments for goods, services, non-financial transfers of companies and private households in Jan-May 2021 in the amount of $1.019 billion to compare with a $462.8 million deficit in Jan-May 2020.
