Belarus’ export revenues down 15.1% in Jan-Mar 2020 to $8.416bn

Belarus’ foreign exchange revenues from exports of goods, services, non-financial transfers of companies and private households decreased 15.1% year on year in January-March 2020 to $8.416 billion, reads a statistical report released by the National Bank of Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> In March 2020 alone, foreign exchange revenues amounted to $2.946 billion, down by 8.8% month on month and by 15.3% to compare with March 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Revenues of commodity exports reduced by 21.1% year on year in Jan-Mar 2020 to $5.951 billion, export of services – up 4.7% to $2.249 billion, incomes – down 7.3% to $61,.8 million, other transfers – down 2.7% to $154.7 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Payments for imported goods and services, non-financial transfers of companies and private households increased 3.8% year on year in Jan-Mar 2020 to $9.336 billion. In Mar 2020 alone, payments for imported goods and services and non-financial transfers amounted to $3.057 billion, up 2.2% month on month, down 1% to compare with Mar 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Payments for imported of goods increased 0.1% year on year to $7.716 billion, payments for imported services – up 23.8% to $1.205 billion, payments of incomes – up 56% to $266.4 million; transfers – up 4.2% to $148.7 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> All in all, Belarus produced a deficit in foreign trade payments for goods, services, non-financial transfers of companies and private households in Jan-Mar 2020 in the amount of $919.9 million to compare with a $921.5 million surplus in Jan-Mar 2019.
