Belarus’ export of fresh and chilled beef down 6.7% in Jan-Mar to $77.914m

Belarus reduced the export of fresh and chilled beef in January-March 2020 by 6.7% year on year to $77.914 million, says the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat). </p> <p> </p> <p> In physical terms, the export decreased in Jan-Mar 2020 by 9.4% to 21,600 tonnes. Supplies to Russia amounted to 11,700 tonnes (down 47.8% yoy) worth $45.869 million (down 42.5%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of meat and edible offal of poultry in Jan-Mar 2020 totaled 49,000 tonnes (up 27.6%) worth $75.5 million (up 25.6%). Russia accounted for 36,200 tonnes (up 17%) worth $51.298 million (up 3.7%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of frozen beef in Jan-Mar 2020 amounted to 13,400 tonnes (up 31% yoy) worth $48.113 million (up 39.4%). Supplies to Russia totaled 9,676 tonnes (up 14.9%) worth $36.085 million (up 24%). </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports of sausages and similar meat products in physical terms decreased in Jan-Mar 2020 by 6.6% to 7,043 tonnes; in monetary terms – down 5.9% to $20.737 million.
