Belarus’ employed labour force number declines by 4,200 in June 2021 to 4.268m

The number of employed labour force in Belarus’ economy in June 2021 decreased by 4.2 thousand people month on month to 4.268 million, as follows from the data of the National Statistical Committee (Belstat) published on the official website. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Belstat, in June 2021, 61,431 persons were hired, and 67,456 were dismissed. </p> <p> </p> <p> The hire and fire ratio in the mining industry amounted to 73.3%; supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning - 114.3%; temporary housing and catering services - 113.2%; information and communication - 105.8%. </p> <p> </p> <p> In June 2021, the ratio of people employed and dismissed in financial and insurance activities was 66.4%, in real estate activities - 67%, in education - 71%, in professional, scientific and technical activities - 81.4%, in construction - 85.9%, in transport, storage, postal and courier services - 87.3%. </p> <p> </p> <p> In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the hire and fire ratio was almost equal, at 100.1% (9,277 thousand hires against 9,270 thousand dismissals). </p> <p> </p> <p> These statistics do not include micro-organisations and small private companies. </p> <p> </p>
