Belarus Development Bank’s net profit up 45.5% in Q1 to Br77.34m

Belarus Development Bank increased its net profit by 45.5% year on year in January-March 2021 up to Br77.34 million ($30.5 million at the National Bank of Belarus rate), according to the data published on the website of the National Bank. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Development Bank increased net interest income by 3% yoy in January-March 2021 to Br81.174 million ($32 million, $1/Br2.5354). The bank increased the negative value of net commission and fee income by 0.4% in January-March 2021 to minus Br1.994 million ($786.46 thousand); received a negative net income from foreign exchange operations in the amount of Br2.314 million ($912.7 thousand) compared with a positive value of Br24.323 million ($9.59 million) as of April 1, 2020; reduced the negative value of net income from securities operations by 2.6% to Br1.289 million ($508,400). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus Development Bank’s total assets decreased by 3.1% year to date to Br11.278 billion ($4.45 billion) as of Apr 1, 2021: the bank decreased loans to customers by 2.7% to Br6.524 billion ($2.57 billion); assets in securities - by 3.9% to 2.909 million Belarusian rubles ($1.15 million); funds in other banks - up 3.2% to Br964.441 million ($380.39 million); funds in the National Bank of Belarus - reduced by 17.2 times to Br5.699 million ($2.25 million).
