Belarus’ consumer price growth up 0.1 p.p to 8.6 percent – MART

In Belarus, the year-on-year growth rate of consumer prices in April 2021 has grown by 0.1 percentage points month on month and made 8.6%, the growth in prices for socially important goods remained at the level of the previous month - 7.1% in annual terms. This is stated in the report of the Ministry of Antitrust Regulation and Trade (MART) of Belarus on the price situation in the consumer market in April 2021, MART said in statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> MART says the main influence on the annual increase in the consumer price index and the consumer price index for socially important goods is still caused by an increase in prices of medicines which occurred at the beginning of the year (the influence of currency volatility and the cancellation of the reduced VAT rate), oils and fats (in particular - vegetable oil due to higher contractual prices).
