Belarus’ cell phone import down 4%/yr in H1 2021 to 834,038 units

Belarus’ cell phone import decreased by 4% on the year in Jan-Jun 2021 to 834,038 units ($134.3 million in value terms, up 5% year on year), according to preliminary customs statistics data. </p> <p> </p> <p> China accounted for 65.1% of Belarus’ cell phone import in H1 2021 (542,600 units, down 9% yoy), the share of Russia stood at 33.7% (280,940 units, up 8%), Vietnam’s share – 1.2% (10,098 units, down 9%). </p> <p> </p> <p> In monetary terms, imports of mobile phones from China in January-June 2021 accounted for 69.4% of total imports ($93.208m, down 4% yoy), 30.4% from Russia ($40.855m, down 4%), 0.2% from Vietnam ($180,900, down 4%). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ cell phone import decreased by 4% on the year in 2020 to 2.184 million units ($317.8m in value terms, down 4%).
