Belarus’ broad money supply up 0.7% in Jul 2020 to Br51.187bn

Belarus’ broad money supply grew by 0.7% month on month in Jul 2020 to Br51.187 billion ($20.84bn) as of Aug 1, 2020, Belarus’ monetary authorities said in an online report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Deposits in foreign exchange increased 4.2% in Jul 2020 to Br28.931 billion ($11.78bn) as of Aug 1, 2020. The proportion of deposits in foreign exchange was at 56.52% as of Aug 1, 2020 against 54.39% as of Jul 1, 2020 and 55.51% as of Jan 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total money supply, cash in circulation (M0 aggregate) increased 1.9% month on month in Jul 2020 to Br4.193 billion ($1.7bn) as of Aug 1, 2020. The proportion of cash in circulation made up 8.19% as of Aug 1, 2020 against 8.09% as of Jul 1, 2020 and 7.64% as of Jan 1, 2020 </p> <p> </p> <p> M1 aggregate, which includes cash and current Belarusian ruble deposits with banks, decreased by 1.4% month on month in Jul 2020 to Br10.437 billion ($4.3bn) as of Aug 1, 2020. M1 aggregate accounted for 20.39% of broad money supply as of Aug 1, 2020 (20.83% as of Jun 1, 2020, 21.18% as of Jan 1, 2020). </p> <p> </p> <p> Ruble money supply (M2* aggregate), which includes M1 and fixed-period ruble securities outside bank circulation, decreased by 3.6% month on month in Jul 2020 to Br20.974 billion ($8.5bn).
