beCloud to act as technical administrator of Belarus’ national domain zone from 1 January

Belarusian infrastructure operator beCloud will act as technical administrator of the national domain zone from 1 January 2022, the operator’s press service said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> beCloud (Belarusian Cloud Technologies JLLC) will act as the technical administrator of Belarus’ national domain zone from 1 January 2022, in accordance with Order #138 of August 25, 2021 issued by the Operational and Analytical Centre under the President of Belarus. Presently, about 150 thousand domains are registered in the national domain zone .BY and .BEL, the report reads. </p> <p> </p> <p> Reliable Programs Ltd (hoster.by) has been the technical administrator of the national domain zone for the last ten years. The company is responsible for the operation of the national domain zone .BY and .BEL: from maintenance of the register and DNS-servers to holding charity domain auctions. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus Cloud Technologies JLLC (beCloud) was established in 2012, with a 51% held by the National Traffic Exchange Centre. In December 2015, beCloud launched its LTE Advanced network (4G) in Minsk. beCloud stands behind 4 infrastructural projects in Belarus: the national datacom network, the national data processing centre, the cloud platform, and the LTE Advanced network. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Belarusian hosting and cloud solution provider hoster.by is the technical administrator of the .BY and .BEL domain zones and the only ICANN-accredited international domain registrar in Belarus. It was reported that on May 18, 2021, officers of the Financial Investigation Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus conducted searches in the central and regional offices of Belarus’ largest information portal tut.by, as well as in hoster.by and av.by companies associated with tut.by media. The Ministry of Information of Belarus decided to restrict access to the Internet resource tut.by and its copies. End </p>
