The average nominal accrued wage in Belarus decreased in January 2021 by 12.5% month on month to Br1,290 ($495.5 at the official rate of the National Bank of Belarus), up 6.6% year on year, the National Statistical Committee of Belarus (Belstat) reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> Minsk led with Br1,849 ($770.2), down 14% month on month. </p> <p> </p> <p> The average wage in the Minsk Oblast in Jan 2021 stood at Br1,271.9 ($488.5), down 10.9% month on month; Gomel Oblast – Br1,146.8 (down 9.2%, $440.5); Mogilev Oblast – Br1,053.5 (down 10.4%, $440.5), Vitebsk Oblast – Br1,085 (down 10.6%, $416.7), Brest Oblast – Br1,088.1 (down 15.6%, $417.9), Grodno Oblast – Br1,274.7 (down 13.9%, $489.6). </p> <p> </p> <p> The industrial sector reported Br1,301.2 (down 15.8% month on month, $499.8); construction – Br1,210.3 (down 21.7%, $464.9); agriculture, forestry and fishery – Br905.3 (down 7.4%, $347.7); retail trade – Br1,157.5 (down 11.4%, $393.7); education – Br903.6 (down 8.8%, $347.1); healthcare – Br1,399.6 (down 3.2%, $5377.6). </p> <p> </p> <p> The average nominal salary in the IT sector stood at Br5,742.2 (down 8.4% month on month, $2,206); financial services – Br2,620.7 (down 4.1%, $1,010). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the average wage in Belarus rose by 13.4% month on month in December 2020 to Br1,474.6 ($566.4).
